The Google review QR code template I use for print

A simple printable Google review QR template with neutral wording, clear scan context, and the checks I run before using it on receipts, cards, and signs.

A Google review QR code template does not need much. I want one plain headline, the QR code, a short line that says what happens after the scan, and enough empty space that the code scans cleanly.

The wording matters more than the decoration. I keep the request neutral because Google allows businesses to ask for reviews, but the review still has to reflect a genuine customer experience.

The basic template

Use one action and one destination

  • Headline - Review us on Google.
  • Subcopy - Scan to share your experience.
  • QR code - the Google review request link for this exact location.
  • Small footer - Thank you for visiting.

That is enough for most cards and counter signs. If the business name is not obvious from the surrounding design, I add the business name above the headline. I do not add a paragraph explaining why reviews matter.

For receipts, I make it shorter: Scan to review us on Google. The receipt already has the business name and transaction context, so the QR block can stay small.

Copy I avoid

Do not ask for a rating

I do not write Leave us five stars, Show this review for a discount, or Review us now while you are still here. Google's policy is clear enough: incentives for reviews are prohibited, and merchants should not pressure users to leave ratings or specific content.

I also avoid wording that filters customers before Google. If the template says Happy with us? Leave a Google review, it is already steering the request toward positive customers. I keep the ask open to anyone who had a real experience.

Layout rules

Give the code room

I keep the QR code away from edges, folds, heavy patterns, and glossy photos. The code gets a quiet area around it. If the design is busy, I put the code on a plain white block instead of trying to make it blend in.

The headline should be readable before the customer scans. The scan is a commitment. People should know they are going to Google before they point the camera at the code.

For small formats, I remove everything that does not help the scan. A receipt footer does not need a logo next to the QR code if the receipt already has the logo. A table card does not need three lines of review copy.

Versions I save

Each placement gets its own file

I save separate files for counter card, receipt, invoice email, and table tent. The QR destination may be the same, but the physical size and wording are different enough that one master file becomes messy.

For multi-location businesses, I put the location in the filename and in the campaign notes. A Google review QR code for the wrong branch is worse than no QR code because it sends useful feedback to the wrong profile.

Final checks

Scan the printed version

Before using the template, I scan the printed proof on at least one iPhone and one Android phone when the run is large enough to matter. I check that the correct Google Business Profile appears and that the code still scans in the lighting where it will be used.

Then I save the source review link with the print file. The template is only useful if the next person can tell which Google link, location, and print placement it belongs to.
